BOTH JUNIOR AND SENIOR TEAM WON THE 2ND MATCH OF NATIONALS ROUND ONE.


The Juniors played against Mayflower Primary and ended up with a score of 32-10! Altho they won,Mr Nizam was not pleased that SHP let Mayflower enter 10 shots in. According to Aerina,the girls had made many mistakes such as stepping and lousy passes! She was also not able to "visualise" like all the other 2 shooters had done,and so,was not able to shoot well. Their next game will be with St.Margs and we hope that the girls will fight for every ball and cut down on the silly mistakes that they have made in the Mayflower game!


I strongly believe that the girls will be able to beat SMP if they really want it badly! So girls , have more confidence in yourself,do encourage each other on court! Win or lose,when u step out of court,you will not have any regrets. Do not be complacent!

For the seniors,they played against Henry Park and the score was 32-16.
Well,the target was for us to get 40 goals,but we 32 goals were all we could produce!
I must say,the girls have tried their best. In the first quarter,the girls were doing fine,as usual they were rushing their passes and ended up losing their balls to the opponents. Second quarter,they were doing slightly better!Third quarter,the girls certainly could have done better,SHP only scored a goal while HP scored five goals in that quarter.The beginning of the third quarter was complicated.They found difficulites passing the ball around,some passes were wrongly passed and ended up right into the defender's hands.Some of the seniors were called for stepping and double hop. Fourth quarter was brilliant. Our two "handicapped" players were allowed on court,Praise and Jiahui were feeling much better and Coach Zam decided to let 'em play. Both the defenders and attackers did well and the mistakes were reduced,and obviously,more shots were put in! We ought to thank our centre,LeeJiaHui for doing a great job in bringing the ball back from the defenders side to the attackers side!
Seniors,do take note of the following :
Time ur jump! - end up stepping!


Do not rush!-over throwing/passing into the defender's hands/lousy pass


GRAB properly !-end up being called for "replay"


Leap for the ball! - will be called for "replay"


No volleyball on court - defenders. you end up tapping the ball into the defenders area.


Watch out for butt contacts ! - many passes were wasted because of this.


Seniors you will be playing against IJ OLN. Do not take the game lightly and do give ur best! Hopefully,we can emerge Champs for this round - but anyway,what matters is you try ur best!
