For the seniors,they were playing against Fengshan Primary.
The score was : 20-34. (SHPS won! )
For the juniors, they were playing against TKP .
The score was : 18- 21. (SHPS won! )
First let's talk about the seniors' game with Fengshan !
The bus arrived at KNC at 2.40 ! The seniors did not have enough time to do any proper warm-up! Our shooters,Amanda Yew,Drishti and Tessa Wong each grabbed a ball and began practising their shooting.
The rest of the members,did the "highest point" drill , "forward leap" drill and the "triangle " drill.
After the quick drills ,the seniors drank some water and gathered in front of Mr Nizam (coach). Mr Nizam talked to us and encouraged us.
He told us that we had to play our best. He pointed us the weak points of Fengshan players demonstrated a few movements on how we could intercept the balls and defend.He also warned us to give stronger passes and also not to rush in the game!
After that the senior team had their prayer led by our GD (position) Rachel Koh.
Soon,it was time for the game to begin. The umpire checked our fingernails and the players went on court to shake hands with their opponents! The senior team then "cuddled" TOGETHER and screamed their team cheer as loud as possible.
The whistle blew and the first quarter began! The players were rushing and the passes were not reaching. We had many many silly mistakes and were not putting our 100% effort yet. The defenders had to work harder but our attackers were doing well.
Our main Goal Shooter, Amand Yewmanaged to shoot in goals from distances! Well done, Amanda.
Over on the defence side, they did not play very well. However,our Wing Defender and Goal Keeper, Praise Wong and Shakila Devi played extremely well.For the first quarter,the players were performing below standard? Where was the spirit guys?!
The umpire blew the whistle again signalling the end of the first quarter. Coach Nizam immediately talked to the girls! The senior team was only leading Fengshan by 3 goals, it was still not safe! Coach Nizam qiculy pointed out a few of our mistakes and he encouraged the team give their 100% effort for the next round. He believed that we had the potential to beat Fengshan and to get ourselves in to the next round- the FINALS. He demonstrated a few movements that the defenders had to perform to intercept the balls.
"Pheeeeep!" the whistle blew again!
This was an indication that the second quarter was beggining! The team encouraged each other,before "cuddling" together again for their team cheer.
The second quarter began and the players were back in action! Our centre, Charamaine Foo was performing very well. She ran for every loose ball and was very alert. Good job Charmaine!
The defenders were still not defending to standard.Many times,there were chances of intercepting the ball but however,there were no attempts made by the defenders! DEFENDERS , buck up!
The attackers were doing great, however, they were still rushing the passes.Our wing-attack. Tian Chin Yee was also doing great. She had made very strong passes and was very alert for loose balls too! She timed her run each time she was supposed to run out for the ball! Excellent playing Chin Yee! Chin Yee is also our vice-captain!A role model for the girls to look up to.
The second quarter ended. Coach Nizam instructed the grils on which type of passes to make for certain players and continued to encourage us! He told our defenders that they had improved but still needed to work harder!
Third quarter began! The girls were definitely performing to the best of their abilities! Rachel Koh our Goal Defender had intercepted the first pass made by Fengshan Primary! Good job Rac ! Our defenders were BACK.Cui Ying who was playing Goal Keeper then, intercepted many passes from Fengshan Primary's centre to Goal Shooter! It was a relief for Mr Nizam ,his defenders were giving their best. Wonderful play Cui Ying.
Our attackers were doing great too! Our wing attack, Min Li was giving very strong passes. Nice one Min Li!
The third quarter ended and Mr Nizam was quite satisfied with how the girls had performed for the third quarter. He praised the girls but also told them not to be over-confident as anything could happen during the fourth quarter. Mr Loh,came over and encouraged us!
The last quarter of the game! The seniors were determined to give their best for this quarter.
For this quarter, the attackers and the defenders did well! Our Goal Keeper, Shakila was intercepting just too many balls! :)/ Rachel Koh was leaping for every ball.Lee Jia Hui our wing defender was doing well in screening her player! Well done defenders!
Our center, Charmaine Foo had intercepted many balls! Excellent play.The goal attack and goal shooter, Tessa Wong and Amanda Yew had accuarate shots. Amanda Yew had made many attempts for the rebounds and managed to put in a shot when Tessa did not. Over all the attackers and defenders played very very well.
The game ended, the seniors were very pleased as they had made it to the Finals!

Junior team! Okay,so not let's talk about our junior team!
It was an amazing game they played with TKP. The score was very close.
It was a tough fight but the players had the "fighting spirit" in them! They wanted the Finals too!
They had done their warm-ups during the senior's game , they were definitely prepared. Well, a short description of the junior's game!
For the first and second quarter, the team was performing very well. Our defenders, Elizabeth Chia, Rachel Chee and Wara were playing to the best of the abitlites.Rachel Chee was definitely in action! Everyone could see the wonderful leaps made by her to get the rebounds. Elizabeth was prepared and alert for evert loose ball. She managed to intercept passed from TKP's WingA and Center. Good job guys! Wara screened her player very well and managed to stop her from receiving passes from other TKP members on court. Well done,Wara!
Now the attackers! W-O-W. The supporters were simply amazed by how well the attackers were perfoming. The captain of the junior team, Aerina Kay had played exceptionally well! She managed to put in many shots from the feeders and was very focused on the game.She did a good job in blocking the GK from getting in front of her,a good role model to learn from! Our wing attack,Fadzlyn,was performing very well too. She managed to give very strong passes and made beautiful leaps for every attempt to intercept the balls. Wonderful job,Fadz. Our center, Insyirah was performing well too. She did well in helping to bring back the ball from the defence side to the attackers side.Insyirah is our vice-captain. Good job Insyirah!
For the third and fourth quarter,the girls performance dropped. They started getting complacent and many silly mistakes were made.Approaching the end of the fourth quarter,the girls managed to get the momentum back and played exceptionally well.
The umpire blew the whistle signalling the end of fourth quarter,everyone supporting the Hildan team screamed and jumped in joy! The junior team,had broken the TKP "traddition" ! And the junior team was probably the first group to ever beat TKP players as TKP netballers were always the champions FOR every East-Zone! We were just over-joyed! The senior and junior team were through to the Finals.
We obviously have to thank, our two very friendly coaches - Mr Nizam and Mr Loh who have trained us so hard just to get us into the Finals. We are very grateful as without them,we will not be where we are today!
Yes,some of our ex-hildan netballers came! Thank you for taking out time just to support us!
